Sponsored by SHS Graduation Association

All senior parents are encouraged to attend the weekly meetings which are held in the Summit Library on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm, until December 6. We are currently planning and procuring for our one and only fundraiser, our silent auction, which is scheduled for December 8, 2011 from 8:00am – 8:00 pm at The Athletic Club of Bend. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards the Grad Party, which will be held June 9th at Summit High School.

Please be a part of this important event for our seniors. We ask that each parent try to donate a few auction items, a gift card, a service, anything and everything helps!

We have an interactive spread sheet on "Google Docs" with past donations from local businesses if you need ideas. If you would like to receive an invitation to join the group, please email the link below and we can set you up so you can sign up.

Our very informal meetings are held to just one hour, where you can drop off your auction items, ask questions, share great ideas for the grad party. We have great parents and with everyone's help, we'll be able to throw our kids a fun, safe, drug and alcohol free celebration.

Committee signup's and planning meetings will start in January…until then, be a part of our auction committee …We need all of you!

What is the “Alcohol & Drug Free All Night Party?

It has become a tradition in Central Oregon for the local high school senior parents to put on an Alcohol & Drug Free Party following graduation to provide a safe means of celebration for all seniors. This necessitates major fundraising and planning over the course of the year prior to graduation. activities, games, food, and prizes are all part of the experience. this has been organized and run through countless volunteers during the year and 50-60 volunteers the day/night of the party.

How do we raise the money and how much does the party cost?

Parties have ranged from $25,000-$34,000. The class size and prices of goods and prizes determine the range in cost. Fundraising has varied from year to year with donations coming from senior parents, local businesses, and sales of things like pies, butter braids, and Valentine's Day candy. Donations are used for event costs and scholarship tickets for students with financial need. Any remaining funds are carried over to the next year's class association to allow for costs that occur prior to fall fundraising. This has ranged from $1,500-$7,000.
